A small gripe

Not really sure how or where I should format this, but just wanted to document something that had been a worry - and it has now been realized. The internet is a really spectacular thing. It allows for folks of all sorts to share their thoughts, tips, and secrets. For the purposes of this website; it helps me figure out how to code things properly. My coding experience is very basic and limited to starter engineering platforms. The closest I ever got to this current site was when I experimented with HTML in college. So trying to figure out how to implement my ideas for this site has been a bit of an uphill battle.
Luckily I am not the first person to use this site, or the internet at large. So for most things in the world it holds true that if you want to do it... someone else wanted to do it before you. Which is awesome! It means that for almost anything you can find guidance somewhere if you are willing to look. In my case I am working right now on implementing an idea that is only interesting to me I'm sure. I want to embed a youtube link that references a database and updates every day. To my mind; that should be easy! Simple as pie. In the few languages I am familiar with you would just create the database, make some sort of reference point, then tell the site - "Everyday look here. Then load this line of text into this field" badabing.
According to first page google results, it should be close to that easy for WIX. But so far I have been running into nothing but trouble. Onto the founded worry. One of the conversations that I have had many times with my pops and uncles on his side of the family is that while the internet is a spectacular place (ripe with information) it is also delicate. They worry that in the case of nuclear fallout the sites would stop running. I worried that someone would simply make a change that didnt work and stop caring. I have for the first time ran into the later case. Website called "TotallyCodable" by "CodeQueen". I ran into it from a forum post because someone was trying to implement auto updating fields on their site, and she posted her youtube video on how to do it. The video is still up! But the specifics of it are lacking. She doesnt have how to code the solution, she has pre-coded solutions that you could apply to your situation.
I'm fine with that. But at the moment those pre-coded solutions are no where to be found. The site they should be linking to is down for the count. Last time it was updated was back in 2021... Something tells me that this solution will not be the one that works for me.
It's such a shame! Someone went through a lot of effort to share their unique knowledge and perspective with the world. All that is left of it is a shadow, a hint that once before there was something here... But now? Its gone. And who knows when or if it will ever come back. To my mind the internet should be perpetual. That is the beauty and danger of it. One must be careful what they choose to share, because once it is available it is no longer truly yours. But things like this? Where someone has just tried to do a good deed and something went amiss? It's such a shame. It makes me feel like running into one of those little neighborhood "libraries" that folks might put outside their house - but all of the books are waterlogged and rotten.
